The Great Shema

The Great Shema means the great hearing. This was Israel's most important confession. In it they heard & declared their commitment to the LORD, His most important characteristic, & their response of love. Jesus repeated this confession declaring it to be the most important in all the Bible, & Apostle Paul included it in his letters to the churches. Teach your children our most important confession & our response of love.

Hi! My name is Tim Spears. I am a missionary, pastor, theology teacher, & most importantly a father. It has been during my time of discipling my children that I realized the need for Cloud Catechism School. I am a strong proponent of our Christian, historical, Protestant faith. And so, I began to use the Westminster Catechism to teach them the basics. If you have used this catechism or other great catechisms written during that era, you know the strengths & the challenges that our children face. I purchased other modern catechisms but found that they failed to capture the imagination and passion of my children who love colors, thinking & expressing their thoughts with their crayons. Cloud Catechism School captures their imagination and focuses it on our Triune God, the gospel & the church using visual means & technology.

FAQs

  • Discipling our children can seem like an impossible task. Begin with lesson one and do not rush. Be slow and steady. Spend 15 minutes or so per day on the lesson talking about it with them, learning the passage of Scripture, & giving them the pictures & coloring pages to do on their own time.

  • If your child has learned the passage of Scripture, and can answer some basic questions related to it, move on to the next lesson.
